about

A travelogue covering the misbehaviour of Rock Stars abroad....

Bob Osborne says of this piece....."I put together a repetitive percussion led drone piece using the "Indian Raga" pack in Ableton which I called "Zappa In India" and I sent it over to Ian who came back with a wonderful set of words around the Fab Fours adventures with the Maharishi.

However it struck me that the structure of the piece and it's particular rhythms would also fit well with the world of Eddodi so I also sent it over to Moff Skellington for his input.

Moff came back with the suggestion that we should each record something totally in isolation from one another and then I should glue it all together.

A first attempt resulted in a three part piece which simply put all three efforts together in line as it were. Moff came back and suggested cutting the pieces up and creating something more organic and less episodic.

The resulting piece is structured around Ian's original lyrics interspersed with a section from Moff which takes a more abstract view and my own section , which was inspired by seeing a picture of a totally wired Keef Richards leaning against a door in a hotel corridor, seemingly asleep on his feet due to the ravages of whatever substance he was consuming at the time. There are dub sections in between each piece with Ian channelling a Beatles lyric. The final result is a droning psychedelic fever dream."
